Extractions are avoided if possible as it is good to try and save teeth. However, there are situations where the tooth is not savable, or the prognosis on the tooth is poor enough that it is perhaps other options are better.
Both simple extractions and more complicated extractions, including impacted wisdom teeth, can be done right here in our office. We are also happy to refer you to an oral surgeon if you prefer. IV sedation is also an option in our office if this makes the procedure more comfortable for you.
Prior to doing an extraction, replacement options are discussed in detail, so that a plan is in place prior to the procedure. This could include something removable, a bridge, an implant, adding a tooth on to an existing denture or partial, or simply deciding to do nothing for replacement. Pros and cons are evaluated carefully to give the best option to fit your needs and desires.
